So yesterday was the annual “father/daughter dance at My daughter’s school. This year it was a “hoedown” theme. She had a blast and I’ll admit I’m a little jealous that I don’t get to go and witness all the cuteness. Oh, and the dads all go out afterwards for pizza and beers so there’s that.

Anyways, some kids go all out with fancy dresses, corsages and hair appointments, which is awesome, but my daughter just isn’t into that. She’s definitely takes after her momma – athleisure all day if she had the choice.

However, she did want to get in on the theme and wear some cowgirl boots. So we went online and let me tell you, she found the best cowgirl boots ever!

We found these boots on Zappos which was great because like usual, I was ordering them last minute and they were literally here in two days, no extra charge. In case you want to look as fabulous as my 7 year-old, you can find these fancy boots here.

Also, since I bought the boots I was determined not to spend a fortune on the rest of the outfit. I found two adorable dresses (both more country chic than western but whatever). One from Amazon for just $16.99 (link here), look how adorable:

The second option was from Children’s Place (link here), only $9.98.

We went with the Children’s Place dress, but I kept both since they were sooooo reasonable!

Of course the boots were a huge hit and I think we will be wearing those a lot in the future! Of course, someone else really liked the boots too, although her outfit choices are a little more questionable.
