There is something so magical about this time of the year – the Christmas music, the decorations, the kids’ excitement, the arrival of all of your Black Friday and Cyber Monday purchases!!!! Honestly – I see it as a small reward for all that hard work is mamas put into planning and getting everything ready all month long. Make sure to check out my full Black Friday post for great finds. Full mommy and me look linked below.
I have to say – I am so so so pleased with this coat and these boots that I ordered this past week. The coat is soft, and warm, and a really nice quality. I hadn’t purchased a winter parka in over five years and I am so so happy with this purchase. It runs a little on the small size so if you are in between size up.
As for the shoes – I have to say, I really really wanted the version of these that were $250. But that just seemed crazy to me and certainly wasn’t in the budget. So I did some research and found out that these dupes that I got for under $30 had amazing reviews and look almost identical to the real deal. So they came today and looked great, were super warm, and amazingly comfortable. I cannot rave about these enough. For the price, I may go back and buy the brown ones too. Again, I couldn’t be happier with my purchase.
So I wore the coat and the shoes (and this amazing heart sweater that allowed me to match with my mini-me) out tonight when we got our tree. Let me say, it was pouring down rain and bitingly cold and yet I stayed toasty warm thanks to my coat and boots. Normally we get out tree the Sunday after Thanksgiving, but it was raining that day too (I’m sensing a theme here).
So we went today, and didn’t go out and cut one down ourselves which we normally do (because – rain), and on top of that the hot chocolate stand was closed. I felt bad because our normal Christmas tree acquisition tradition includes both cutting the tree ourselves and indulging in hot chocolate. Luckily the kids seemed okay with it and we made do with just having some hot cocoa at home. I have a post ready about Christmas traditions I hope to get out soon, but like many of those traditions, it might not happen, lol!
