We just spent the most fun weekend celebrating my dear friend’s wedding in Brooklyn, NY. The weekend was filled with laughs, love and cocktails of course. The bride looked absolutely stunning and every detail of the wedding was perfect.

On top of that, I got to spend time with my best college friends laughing, dancing, drinking and catching up. It is amazing what one weekend away with friends can do for your spirits. It was really just such a great time, and on top of that it was sunny and in the sixties which for the northeast in January is unheard of. It was amazing. We got to do a little sightseeing around Brooklyn and stopped at a really cool food hall – the North Third Street Market with all sorts of amazing food including an “all gluten free” stand featuring gluten free crepes and cheese bread. Of course they had plenty of gluten filled items as well, including the mac ‘n cheese pierogies my husband ate. We also stopped at a local Biergarten that had a gluten free beer selection. I could not have been happier.
I say the weekend was filled with my favorites – favorite food, favorite friends, favorite clothes.
Black floral dress / over the knee boots
The dress I wore to the welcome party I just grabbed quickly at Target – saw it on a mannequin as I was walking through and loved it. Then I wore my favorite Spanx leggings and comfy wedges on Saturday while site seeing.
As for the dress I wore to the wedding, I was so happy with it. As usual, I procrastinated and was looking online for a dress to wear five days before I was leaving for New York City. I went on to Nordstrom.com to find something but none of the dresses I liked would get here in time. So I searched for the brands I saw on Nordstrom that I liked on Amazon, with the goal of finding something that would get here in time. Sure enough, I found two great options. There was a really fun blue dress that was a little snug (I should have sized up to a medium), so I went with the black one shoulder dress and LOVED it. Thank god for Amazon!
Spanx leggings – I love these leggings. They are so soft and comfortable and dress any outfit up. They are a little pricey, but I got mine on sale on Black Friday and they were totally worth the price!
Wedge shoes – these shoes are really comfortable
Over the knee boots – these are really comfortable and come in black or brown
Black one-shoulder BB Dakota dress – super comfortable, fun dress
Teal one shoulder dress – I also loved this dress but was slightly snug, size up if you are between sizes
