So the other day someone asked me – if you are “that mom who works,” why don’t you share some work clothes? I should have responded, oh yes, great idea! But you know what I actually thought – uh, because work clothes are NOT fun! Thankfully, I thought about it some more, and realized work clothes SHOULD be fun!

When I was a lawyer (yes, in a previous life I was a divorce attorney) I had a job where I was encouraged to wear a suit EVERY SINGLE DAY. I think I can safely say, that was not much fun. There are ways, however, to make work clothes fun, and I am going to share some outfits that do that!

Also – I truly feel that when you feel better about what you are wearing, confidence in what you are doing follows and naturally you do a better job! Or maybe you just care less about having a bad day because you look good 🤷🏻‍♀️

Okay, back to this outfit – which is great for work or even just a dinner out or drinks with friends. Either way – trust me when I say you NEED this gold cardigan. You can tell from the pictures that it makes this outfit, and you absolutely need it in your closet, for work and fun!

It’s comfortable, it’s shape is flattering, and it’s an easy way to add a super fun pop of color to an outfit! Voila – we have some fun work clothes! Also it’s no secret that every office in the entire world is approximately ten degrees too cold – and this is the perfect sweater to keep on hand. I hate to even mention this, but we can’t ignore that fall is coming, and this is a great piece that works for fall too.

I put it over this casual sun dress, that is also really comfortable. I bought the dress a size bigger than I normally would to make it a little more baggy. It’s hard to explain the material of the dress – really really soft and flowy. Throw on some fun jewelry and there you have it – a (can I say it) fun work outfit!

Oh – I also really love this bag – it’s really reasonable, looks expensive, and is the perfect size to tote kid stuff of work stuff. Also, like the cardigan, it flows well into fall.

I have to mention that this cardigan can be added to some of the staples already in your closet like jean shorts, white jeans, camouflage pants. The camo pants and white jeans below are two of the MOST comfortable pants I have ever worn.
