Beach Outfits and How I Really Feel about Packing for Vacation

Alright kids it’s family beach vacation week! You know what that means, right mamas? It means I am resentful and angry that I spent two days packing EVERYTHING for EVERYBODY – just kidding, just kidding (kind of) 😂. All joking aside, I have read a lot lately about how Moms bear the mental load of the everyday tasks and it can be very stressful. I agree 100 percent.

For example, for this beach trip I had a million things to remember – in any one second this is an example of what was going through my mind – Mail that late check to the piano teacher. Remember to text the cleaning lady. Don’t forget Luna’s medicine – oh wait it needs to stay cold, grab an ice pack. Pack swimsuits separately in case we do swimming before we officially unpack. Better grab a thermometer, and some kids’ Tylenol in case someone gets sick. Oh, put it in a plastic baggie in case it spills. Where is Anthony’s stuffie? Luna’s stuffie? Their favorite movie for the car? Shit is that an ant? I have to vacuum before these ants really take over the house.

This list goes on and on in my head. But here’s the thing Moms, what would happen if I forgot the thermometer? Or the Tylenol? We would buy it if we needed it. Forgot to mail the check to the piano teacher? She’d get it the next week! Forgot to pack swimsuits in an easily accessible spot – we’d find them eventually.

I guess my point is, sometimes we put this extra mental load on ourselves. Will things go more smoothly if we remember all this stuff? Absolutely. Will the world end if we don’t? Absolutely not. So not saying what we stress over isn’t important – it’s the stuff that makes our day to day lives manageable, and some of it is necessary. But if it means we are driving ourselves insane? Well then maybe we need to let some of these things go, and just say F*** it. Do the kids have underwear, swimsuits and pjs? Did I grab my wine? Well then we are good – let’s go enjoy this vacation!

Anyways – back to the most important things – the swimwear. Here’s some of my new beachwear I was actually excited to pack up! I got a lot of it during Amazon Prime Days – but don’t worry, it’s still priced well! Grab some things before the summer is over!

First of all, I am so happy with this bathing suit. It’s a Cupshe suit. I, probably like you, have seen tons of ads for this brand, and the suits are all super cute and very reasonably priced. I was hesitant to buy one though because I wasn’t sure about the quality. Let me tell you, I am really pleased with the suit! Now, I read the reviews and did go with a size up (I am usually between a small and medium and went with the medium), and it fits well. I feel like the material is thicker than I thought, and it is super cute in person.

I adore this cover up, it’s fun and perfectly oversized.

Of course you need these fun travel tumblers for your beverage of choice.

Everything looks great with some animal print accessories like slides and this headband made by one of my favorite Etsy shops.

My other suit is from Target and also super fun.

This coverup up is fantastic, comes in every color imaginable, and is super flattering, with ruffles.

Add a great animal print beach bag. Unfortunately, I bought this one two years ago and isn’t in stock anymore. I did find some other cute beach bags though –

This striped bag is cute for the beach in multicolor
