I feel like I need to say something important. You guys – summer is NOT over yet. It is only mid-July. With all the back to school stuff coming out and even (gulp) Halloween items, I feel like I am being rushed through some of the best months of the year! I saw a promotion for Uggs the other day, but is supposed to be 95 degrees here this afternoon! Give me all the summer clothes!
Speaking of summer – we actually have our annual beach vacation coming up next week which I look forward to all year long, and with all the great sales going on I have been grabbing some new suits, coverups and sundresses for the trip! Am I the only one who loves having those two Amazon Prime Days days as an excuse to do a little more shopping than I normally would? I am guessing probably not, and right now I have a bit of an Amazon hangover.
Despite how much I frequent the giant retailers like Amazon and Target – I have to say there is nothing I love better than a great boutique or local shop. When you shop at these places you support the local community, and can find unique pieces that haven’t been featured on Instagram 2 million times. Also, and most important for me, when you need something last minute – and I mean like within an hour, where else are you going to go?
I got this adorable dress at my favorite local shop – Three Little Birds Boutique (TLB). Check them out online or stop in one of their locations in Hershey or Mechanicsburg, Pa.
If you are local and haven’t been there you are missing out! The owner is a fellow working mama with a great sense of style. You can totally tell she gets the struggle of trying to look good while juggling the craziness of being a mom and raising kids. Feel like you can’t go into a trendy boutique because you are always wearing outdated athleisure and dragging three never well-behaved kiddos with you? Not a problem – at TLB they are always welcoming and instead of making you feel uncomfortable and uncool they hand the kids an iPad and get to work on making you feel beautiful again – it’s heavenly, and something every mom deserves.
I have also found that TLB has the most unique items that I would have no idea where to find, and the best part is I can (and have) walked in there the day of events and walked out thirty minute later with something amazing to wear. As a busy mom I need this in my life. Since they also have a great online shop – you can shop this great local store from anywhere! I can’t wait to wear this dress on my beach vacay – it’s so fun!
I also purchased this red dress from TLB and I love it! I know, I know, it’s still summer but I do want to add that with the jean jacket and some boots this could carry into fall. I have also worn it to work and got so many compliments. You can find the red dress on their website, but it’s sold out for now.
