Outfit information below
Okay – my plan was to sit down tonight and do some summer chore charts for the kids, but I am procrastinating and writing about clothes is just way more fun – so I can save that for tomorrow. I am also getting ready for something I am so excited about to happen this week and I’m having a hard time concentrating. I am extremely superstitious, however, and don’t want to jinx anything so I can’t say anything else!
Anyways, yesterday was a really unexpectedly fun day. Let me start by saying we NEVER go out on Sundays. Like all the other working parents out there we usually spend Sunday doing exciting stuff like grocery shopping, cleaning the house, and running the kids wherever they need to go. My husband’s coworker, however, had an open-house party so we dropped the kids off at my parents’ house and took off for the afternoon.
The party was really nice with a lot of wine and fancy gluten-free snacks which was a plus. I am rarely at a party where I can eat all of the food and I was super excited to not have to turn a single hors d’oeuvre away!
Afterwards were able to grab a bite to eat and some drinks on the rooftop deck at one of our favorite restaurants. The weather was amazing and it was just really great to have an afternoon to do something fun. In fact, dare I say we may try to make this a more regular thing? I mean, not every Sunday, but maybe once a month we could get out and have a Sunday Funday – I highly recommend it to all of you parents as well. I feel like when I am in the thick of it during those really crazy days it’s hard to remember or imagine doing anything but making it to bedtime.
So anyways, I grabbed this gorgeous yellow dress literally one hour before the party (because that’s how I roll) from my favorite boutique, but it is now out-of-stock online – they had to grab this one off the mannequin for me. I will link it if and when it comes back.
This jean jacket is YEARS old and no longer in stock but is Old Navy (vintage ;). The shoes and handbag are available and awesome!
