Let’s Talk Spring Break Clothes

So we are going away on a little trip to warmer weather with friends in a few days (edit – OMG I am actually editing this post while on a plane to Mexico – beyond excited here). I am really looking forward to this trip, it’s just my husband and I (no kids) and some of our friends, to celebrate our fortieth birthdays.

Of course, I have been looking at clothes for this trip for some time now and wanted to share what I have found with everyone, so you too can start planning your outfits for spring break, vacations or just the warmer weather that is inevitably around the corner!

Fjallraven Bag / Calpak Bag

So first, for this trip I wanted to get a new book bag to take with me. The one I normally use is the family bag which works great but is not stylish or fun in any way and is actually huge and bulky. So I did some research on bags and actually found two I was having a hard time deciding between. The first bag was this adorable, but casual Fjallraven bag. Apparently these are extremely popular bags now? I had no idea. But I loved the color as well as the size, and it easily goes from book bag to tote which is neat too. It comes in tons of fun colors!

The second bag I ordered was the Calpak bag. I LOVE this bag! It is stylish yet roomy, feels extremely sturdy, and has a pouch for your laptop or tablet. There are also a ton of inside pockets for things like passports and your phone. I feel like this Calpak bag is even perfect for work or a diaper bag. I can’t recommend it enough. Also it comes in some truly great colors!

Ultimately, it was the Calpak bag that I chose, mainly because I was more into the look and how sturdy it felt, but if money were no issue I would have purchased both!

Also – am I the only one that obsessed over what I am wearing to get there? Especially when I am traveling from cold weather to warm weather, I want to be warm on the plain but not sweating when we land. I want to look cute because it’s officially the start of a vacation, but also need to make sure I am comfortable.

So let’s talk about my traveling outfit – both of these shirts were comfortable and roomy, and reasonably priced. I loved them both – ended up packing one to wear there and one to wear back because I couldn’t decide. I also have a solid Z-supply tank underneath. I got the tops from Red Dress – the first time I have ordered from this store and I was extremely pleased. If you have never visited their site check it out – tons of cute stuff. Just be careful with their short return period (14 days for refund to original payment) and caveats when using codes.

Oatmeal pullover / white tank / ombré shirt / cutoff jean shorts

I’m also obsessed with these shorts. I wanted cutoffs that weren’t booty shorts and these fit the bill! If you are in the market for new jean shorts this season check them out! Everything is linked above.

So travel day is down what other spring break clothes did I get?

Knotted dress / jacquard purse

For starters, this knotted t-shirt dress is what sent me to Red Dress in the first place. I could not find it anywhere else. It’s perfect for a more casual look, comes in several colors and I feel like will be great for the spring with a jean jacket.

Also, isn’t this purse super cute and beachy? It was also very reasonably priced and can be used all summer.

Colorful Maxi Dress

I also bought this super fun, tropical maxi dress. It’s so comfortable, and really is a dress with a great vacation vibe. I’m super excited to wear it!

Flowy top

Also loving this white top with my white distressed jeans that I wear ALL of the time in the summer.

Pink dress

This pink dress is also absolutely fabulous – there are these super cute cutouts on the side and fun racer back – it also comes in several colors.

Cover up / bathing suit / beach hat

And last but not least of course – bathing suits! I bought a new cupshe suit, I am a huge fan of these. I feel like for the price they are well made. I am between a small and medium and always size these suits up and find they fit well. I am on the fence about this beach hat – I am just not a hat person, but this one is “packable” and seems sturdy so I am going to go with it.

Sadly, this is just a portion of what I’ve packed up for this four day vacation! But I feel like this is a good Spring Break Shopping guide! Have fun shopping!
